Built to a standard, not to a budget.
Every piece of equipment on this floor was chosen deliberately, and several of them cost considerably more than the alternative. Here is what we bought, and why we think it was the right call.

The Thinking
Anyone can roast coffee. Repeating it is the hard part.
If coffee is what drives your sales, the risk you carry is not that one batch tastes bad. It is that batches taste different — that the espresso your regulars come back for shifts under them, and your baristas spend every delivery re-dialling to chase a moving target.
Almost every specification decision we made was aimed at that single problem. We built a facility to international processing standards, and where there was a choice between the cheaper machine and the more repeatable one, we bought the repeatable one.

01 Green Bean Sorter
Nothing goes in that shouldn’t
Green coffee arrives from any farm — ours included — carrying more than coffee. Stones, husk, twigs, metal fragments, and beans that are broken, insect-damaged, mouldy or unripe.
Our sorter removes foreign material and defective beans before anything reaches the roaster, at a consistency no hand-sorting line can hold across a full shift.
Why it matters to you
Defects do not roast out — they roast in. A single mouldy or unripe bean carries into the cup as sourness, astringency or a musty finish, and your customer tastes it without knowing why. Foreign material is worse: it is a food safety incident and an equipment repair bill waiting to happen.

02 Air Roaster
We chose repeatability over romance
Most roasteries run a drum roaster. Drums transfer heat by conduction — beans touch hot metal — which makes the result sensitive to batch size, ambient temperature, how recently the drum was run, and the judgement of whoever is standing at the controls.
We went with an air roaster instead. Heat is carried by a controlled stream of hot air, so the profile is governed by measurable variables rather than accumulated metal temperature. Roasts are faster, cleaner, and far easier to reproduce exactly.
Why it matters to you
If coffee is your main sales driver, profile repeatability is not a nicety — it is the whole thing. A locked profile on our roaster means the bag you get in March tastes like the bag you approved in January.
Your baristas stop re-dialling every delivery, and your customers stop noticing.
03 Mechanical Mixer
We post-blend. And we use a machine.
There are two ways to make a blend. Pre-blending throws all the origins into the roaster together and roasts them as one — simpler, but it forces beans of different density and moisture through a single profile, so some are under-developed and others are pushed too far.
We post-blend. Each origin is roasted separately to the profile that actually suits it, then combined afterwards in a dedicated mixer. More steps, more handling, better cup.
Why it matters to you
Post-blending is what lets each origin contribute what it is actually good at, instead of every component being compromised toward an average.
If your roaster does not own a mixer, your beans are being combined by hand — someone’s arms, in a tub, in an open room. Ask your current supplier whether they have one. The answer is informative.

04 Automated Weighing & Dispensing
Every pack, the same, and untouched
Roasted coffee is weighed and dispensed into packaging automatically. No scoops, no manual top-ups, no hands in the product.
Two things follow from that. Accuracy: every bag holds what the label says, within a tight tolerance, batch after batch. And hygiene: the coffee travels from roaster to sealed bag without human contact, in a closed system.
Why it matters to you
Underfilled bags are a customer complaint and a compliance problem. Overfilled bags are margin you gave away silently across thousands of units. Automated dosing removes both, and removes the contamination risk that comes with hand-packing — which matters a great deal if the bag carries your brand rather than ours.
Standards
How the facility runs
Roast to Order
We do not roast to stock. Beans are roasted after your order is placed, so what reaches you is days old rather than months.
Traceable Batches
Every batch is recorded against its green lot and roast profile. If a question ever arises, we can answer it precisely.
Controlled Environment
Segregated green storage, production and packing zones, with the cleaning and handling discipline that international processing standards require.
.
Stored Profiles
Approved roast profiles are saved as parameter sets, not as someone’s technique. They survive staff changes.
Sealed Packaging
Valve-sealed to let roasting gases escape without letting oxygen in — the single biggest factor in how long your coffee stays good.
Open Door
We will show you all of this in person. Partners and prospective partners are welcome to visit the roastery and the farm.
